Reliant on authoritative shareholders,
CIV (Collegamenti Integrati Veloci) was established in 1990 upon the initiative of Attorney Giuseppe Manzitti with the goal of studying and managing “turn key” projects in the sector of fast road and railway connections, as well as important public utility systems in Italy and in Europe within the transport sector.
The system of traditional transports has reached the emergency threshold and the lack of alternative services is forcing companies to packing every day passenger and goods, and extending traveling times from origin to destination with a considerable increase in costs.
In order to solve the need for a new European leaner and safer circuit,
a high speed railway link has been created between Genoa and Novi, aiming at strengthening passenger and goods transport between Liguria and the Po Valley and thus connecting Genoa and the Med to Northern Europe and the main East-West transborder connection route.
The route chosen for the final project signed by Sina and Civ, fits in the territory without interfering with the structure of the concerned urban areas, thanks to the adoption of low disturbance sections.
Today, the Company, which has preserved till now its unusual qualities and intervention skills, is still performing the leading function in promoting and looking for consensus for the new Genoa-Milan railway line for the Cociv Consortium, which is the General Contractor of the work.
